Newsmaker: Skin Cancer Cure Goes Global

DeBCC, a skin treatment cream that can help those who suffer from the skin cancer Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC), is going global as it is set to conquer not only Asia, US and Europe, but also Australia and Canada. And it is poised to dominate the world market as it is the only one of its kind that treats BCC naturally. So now patients only have to apply DeBCC on the infected skin and they no longer need to have their skin tumors surgically burned.

The formula of the treatment cream was invented and developed by Filipino inventor Rolando Dela Cruz who is also the President and CEO of RCC Amazing Touch International. RCC International is the company he started to produce and market DeBCC and many other award-winning skin products that can remove moles, warts, acne and permanent tattoos without surgery.  Dela Cruz has reaped many prestigious local and international awards for his inventions. In 2007, DeBCC was one of the 11 awardees at the 93rd Annual Clinical Congress of the American College of Surgeons and in 2005, it was judged as the most significant invention of 2005 in Germany. Other countries that have recognized RCC’s products include the United Kingdom, Russia, Korea, Japan and Switzerland.

With skin cancer rates on the rise, a product like this should get all the support it can get from the Philippine government and other organizations to make sure that it can be properly patented, marketed and sold around the world.

Quote of the Day: Guglielmo Marconi and Radio Telegraphy

Our quote today comes from Italian inventor Guglielmo Marconi. He received a Nobel Prize in Physics in 1909 for his contribution to the study of wireless telegraphs. He is famous for his bold idea and experiments to transmit radio signals across the Atlantic Ocean.

“Every day sees humanity more victorious in the struggle with space and time.” — Guglielmo Marconi

Life is Fun: Special License Plates

Today in 1901, New York became the first US state to require automobile license plates, about two years after the world’s first license plate was issued in Paris.

Here are some photos of vanity license plates:

Of course these vanity plates are no match for our own Filipino commemorative plates.

But if you ask me, the most special plate is the “Ocho”. It’s so powerful that it acts as a force field that shields off any law enforcer from ever bothering you.  You become “untouchable.” It’s so ’wicked’ that even criminals have jumped in on the ‘Ocho Bandwagon’.  Maybe this is something that the MMDA can look into, instead of trying to fry small fish on motorbikes.
